Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!

The clock is running. The next UGH ‘Ukulele Exhibition is not next year, IT IS THIS YEAR! November 17th & 18th YeeeeHaaa!

The UGH Board (aka Exhibition Committee) met in December. Because of the holidays, our meeting attendance was down a bit. More ideas for the show were tossed around. The result of the meeting was that we are truly committed to this event and will be working to make it Great! Now that the holiday festivities have ended, it is time for us to dig in our heels and get to work.
We have been penciled into Princess Kaiulani’s activity schedule and we are currently waiting for them to forward the contract to us for signing. We will let you know as soon as possible about any special room rates being offered for event attendees.

Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, January, 18th at Hana Lima’s shop at 718 Puuhale Rd. at 5 pm. We are looking forward to seeing you at the meeting to offer not only your suggestions, but also your continued participa-tion to make this event great.

Our last Sunday of each month building activity for this year will also be used to prepare for the exhibition. We will be building table top display pedestals in various shapes and sizes for the ‘ukulele to better display your creations. Did I mention you are more than welcome, encouraged, urged, etc. to come build with us at these Sunday events, if not,,,,, See you at Hana Lima on Sunday January 29th at 12 noon?
Mahalo,
Doug Long, event chairperson

Many Mahalos to everyone for making this year's Ukulele Exhibition a huge success! This event was 100% volunteer run, and could not have taken place without the generosity of many people.

The Keep It Hawai‘i program was created in 1991 as a way to formally recognize businesses, organizations and individuals who year-round work to maintain and preserve Hawai‘i’s unique culture.

The Keep it Hawai‘i awards showcases the incredible commitment being made statewide by community-minded people and companies devoted to perpetuating Hawai‘i’s culture and heritage. The entrants are recognized for the work they do every day to help make Hawai‘i such a uniquely exhilarating experience for our visitors and kama’aina alike.
